About US
Nomade Cocina is a Yucatecan kitchen in the heart of Austin’s South 1st district, inspired by the beaches, jungles, markets, and open-fire cooking traditions of the Yucatán Peninsula. Founded by wanderers and shaped through travels across coastal Mexico, Nomade was created to bring the warmth, energy, and flavors of the Yucatán back home to Austin.
Our menu celebrates the cuisine of the Mexican Gulf Coast with sustainably sourced seafood, heirloom masa tortillas ground fresh daily, and artisanal spices from Mérida and Quintana Roo. Influences from Lebanese, Portuguese, and African culinary traditions found throughout the Yucatán are woven into both traditional and contemporary dishes, all centered around wood-fired cooking and bold coastal flavors.
Nomade offers a dining experience that is immersive, vibrant, and rooted in hospitality. Guests can enjoy oak-grilled seafood, ceviches, tacos, seasonal vegetables, and plant-based dishes alongside a curated collection of additive-free agave spirits and Latin-inspired wines.
Nomade is proudly 100% gluten-free, seed oil free, and celiac safe, with an extensive plant-based menu designed to make thoughtful dining accessible to everyone. Every detail, from ingredient sourcing to kitchen practices, is built around quality, safety, and flavor.
Located in historic Bouldin Creek just south of Downtown Austin, Nomade blends tropical design, open-air dining, and relaxed hospitality into a space designed for gathering. Whether joining us for brunch, happy hour, dinner, private events, or our signature Yucatecan Feast, guests are invited to slow down, share meals, and experience a taste of the Yucatán in South Austin.
Nomade has been recognized as the #4 Best New Restaurant in the South by Yelp, named one of the Top 15 Restaurants in Austin by Fodor’s Travel, and awarded an OpenTable Diners’ Choice Award.
